I was the only one to follow the rules in a local writing competition. The rules were stupid. Anyway, someone else won. Apparently the rules were just there to make the instructions look important. How do I know the others didn't follow the rules? You could see the formatting of other entries when the papers were returned. Add to that, I'd been told privately that they didn't want a personal account, so I entered something else. A personal account won. The whole thing left me feeling a bit meh.
