I totally agree. You have to be very committed to scroll through lots of pinned stories to get to the new stuff. I deleted my pinned tweet recently, after deciding that perhaps one was too much! I start with the following tab (rarely look at recommended, as it's all about medium and I'm trying to get away from that - she says while reading a piece about medium). Then I look out for those numbers at the top and select some of my favourite writers to check out their new stories.
