I think you’re right. My sister does know that we’re disappointed when they don’t say thank you. It’s been an issue for some years now and sometimes she *does* send me a photo of the kids with their gifts, with a thank you. But it’s hit and miss, and this story followed a present that was totally ignored.

When I did eventually get a response, it was that the T shirt was too big. I said the shop would change it, but they couldn’t be bothered — and I was following my sister’s sizing advice anyway!

She did later suggest that we stop doing birthdays for the 20 year old, so I’ll probably get a bottle of plonk to help him celebrate his 21st next year and then call it a day.
