I think there's a worry that if taxes on business go up too much, then businesses will simply go and operate from somewhere else in the world, and provide employment there, instead of in the UK.

Nonetheless, I totally agree that the principle is a good one if it could be made workable. I think we'll be getting a change of government at the next election. Interesting to hear a perspective from across the water!
