I think the problem is, it's a long haul trying to get established in any niche, and it takes years. You and I probably won't do well in tech because we've just started writing about it and no one knows our tech stuff, or is interested at this stage.

But if we wrote about tech every day for 2 years, we might find we get an audience.

Whereas if you write about Medium, you can probably get an audience in a few weeks.
