I think it's worthwhile submitting to publications. You could get a few more eyes on your stories and get new followers and readers from that. In Fitness and in Health were very slow to publish and required multiple reworks last time I published with them. The piece, after all that work, earned about a dollar. It probably would have earned more if it hadn't been extended, because people prefer shorter reads, but that's what the editors wanted. As a result, I haven't published with them since. I can recommend another for health pieces, if you want one.
