I think it's crazy that today you have to be suicidal to be eligible for counselling on the NHS. I think doctors are so pushed for time they only get a 5 minute telephone call per patient these days. That's not long enough to have a proper conversation, let alone do therapy.

There are group sessions for people with anxiety and depression, which if deemed suitable can lead up to 4 sessions of CBT in our area, but it seems the primary solution to everything is drugs, when much of the time, people probably only need someone to talk to.
