I think a lot of younger people are choosing to work shorter hours and refusing to sacrifice their lives to the traditional long working hours. It's painful to be one of those who puts the hours in and then has to pay taxes to fund the benefits of those who don't, but I can see the attraction, and if that had been an acceptable culture when I was young, I'd have done the same thing. There weren't a lot of part-time jobs around at the time, and I needed the full-time income or I'd have never got a place to live. Work benefits exist now that I wasn't even aware of back then. So I think times are changing a bit.... even though the billionaires still hang onto their money.
