I tend to agree, but you know what? My shortform articles outperform the others. A lot of people seem to like them, and it's weird, because they lack substance for obvious reasons.

I just use them sometimes for a short rant, or to get a conversation going. Meanwhile, long articles I've spent ages on are left for dust by shortforms that took five minutes.

Obviously this incentivises people to write more shortform. It's like the glut of Medium stories.
