Portmeirion might be on the Welsh coast, but this statue began life in Aberdeen, and when Portmeirion’s owner heard it was being discarded, he drove all the way to Aberdeen with a pickup truck to collect it. The 900-mile round trip in 1960 gave Hercules a new lease of life.
