I read Brooklyn's story and commented. My guess is it might have been easier to make Medium pay well in the past. I'd like to have been there to try it, but I didn't realise what Medium was until quite recently.

I wonder if part of Brooklyn's problem is that she doesn't seem to engage with people on her own blogs. I mean, I wrote a thoughtful, relevant, agreeable comment, but it's not been acknowledged. That doesn't make me want to go back and try to engage with her again.

Perhaps that matters more now than it once did. I always try to acknowledge and respond to comments.
