"I had a image on a web site that was in the public domain - a picture of a Sputnik satellite on a black background. I got an email from a small stock photo agency demanding I take it down. The image they were selling was the same Sputnik but with Mars in the background. (Sputnik never orbited Mars.)

I contacted the person that created and was selling the image on the agency's website. He had used the same public domain image of Sputnik as me, and placed it on the Mars background. He groaned that he hated doing business with that agency and that he would tell them to back the f*** off. I soon got an email from a higher-up at the agency saying never mind.

Sometimes you can win these things."
