I love this concept and I whole heartedly agree with you on what causes people's unhappiness - perception. I struggle to see this working in practice, but I do love the idea. Bottom line is people with much higher incomes than me moan about having less - but they waste it.

Saying that, in the old days, I probably felt sorry for myself because my lifestyle suffered so that I could have the important things I wanted later.

Giving everyone the same amount of money would not mean everyone had the same amount to show for it years down the line. Those who blow it on nights out and holidays would still resent those who invested it and lived carefully so they have more to show for it in the long run.

But that is a very UNPOPULAR opinion. The right publication, for sure.
