It has occurred to me that sometimes people might drop in to pick up a link to our stories if they want to share it, for example.

That might then register as a view, not a read. So there might be some mistakes where this happens, even by supporters, because we don't necessarily realise.

However, I thought there was an allowance for this, where the first 5 seconds don't count at all - not even as a view. So they don't affect read ratio.
