I have to admit, I've had female bosses and male bosses and on average, the women have been harder to work for. The men are more relaxed sometimes - although there was one who was truly awful. I think the women in senior positions might feel a need to constantly assert their authority, whereas men can relax because it's taken as a given. My experiences may be unique, but honestly, I've found some women bosses particularly difficult.

Certainly not saying all women are awful bosses though. Bottom line is it comes down to personality and I've managed to annoy both women and men.
