I have literally met someone who had set up her pub and was trying to reach a critical mass with high quality boostable stories before applying, only to get the email saying they're no longer considering applications. She feels it's been a massive waste of time and work for her. I sympathise. My story is similar, I just missed the memo that you need a special niche, so managed to apply and get rejected on the grounds on not having the right niche.
