I have a tendency to believe people, and have been called naive in the past. Perhaps I was.

I still think most people are honest and are more likely to be mistaken than outright liars. I also think that modern society likes to go the other way and call everyone liars, when they're not.

Politicians speculate about what may happen in the future if we make this decision now - suddenly everyone says they're 'liars' if their speculations turn out to be a bit off.

I still reckon most people are mostly truthful and only tend to lie for the avoidance of hurting someone's feelings, or occasionally for getting themselves out of a mess by denying everything. The former, I approve of - the latter is dishonest and irritating.
