I had a guy do this just yesterday. Although to be fair, he had linked to an article of mine, so I let him off. But it felt inauthentic. I don't think he'd read my piece. He was just listing other stories that had appeared in the same publication that day and was tagging all the writers. He has never engaged with me. When I asked him if he'd read the piece, he didn't reply.

What's worse is if someone picks up your stories to get the link for the sole purpose of tagging, that's a view-not-read, which brings down our read ratio and adversely affects our pay.

It's not on. So, if he tags me again, I'll ignore him, unless in the meantime he's actually going to start interacting properly.
