I find it motivating. To see my numbers grow makes me think I'm making progress on here, even though probably only 50 engage regularly. I know a lot have left, so it is important to keep growing. Also, I use the blogroll now to see who's published. If they deleted that, I'd be more lost with even fewer avatars.
