I don't think you have to get rid of wealth, but it's more about not loving it too much. Many people might save for the purpose of security. That makes a lot of sense. And hanging onto old clothes is better for the environment than going out buying new ones because you later wish you hadn't got rid of so much. Then I think the bible says generosity is good, too. But I'm not sure you need to get rid of stuff that you already own. Use it until it's dead. That's best for the environment.
