I do hope the market for human writers hasn't gone within 5 years, but I do feel it's getting increasingly difficult to make a living at it. My income fell at the onset of the pandemic, and the government helped, but it's supposed to have recovered when everything opened up, and it didn't. I've not heard that AI is to blame. AI couldn't do the interviews I do, for example, but magazines are finding cheaper ways to operate, and I'm not a part of the equation. Still hoping it might pick up.
