I couldn't understand why my work was consistently overlooked for the boost, and I've learned something recently about there needing to be a significant personal touch, which was often missing in my best stories, because they weren't about me. I'm a journalist. It's rarely about me. But my point is, it's not about being good, or being quality, but about cracking the formula, and if you have a good editor who can give you feedback on this, he's worth his weight in gold.
