I always wanted to work from home and be my own boss, but there was a box, in the sense that my parents wouldn't hear of it, and of course, but the time you've got a mortgage, it's all much riskier going alone, so I ended up constrained by the corporate box and didn't break out until my mid-30s. I'm just glad I did eventually. To me, for my personality, it was always obvious that the traditional office life was not suited to me. I hated it.
