I agree that the read-for-read thing is ridiculous. But I don't agree that you can't have an exchange of ideas on here. I have many great exchanges of ideas! Some people disagree quite passionately, and some of the points of view are interesting and thoughtful. Mostly people are good at disagreeing in a civilised manner too!

I had no idea that criticising medium was against the rules, as I've been known to have a grumble and the CEO has even responded with his take on things. I've obviously got away with a few things, but perhaps your point of view took things too far.

I suspect I know who you've encountered who wants read backs. I don't like that pushy approach either. He won't change though, and if he wants to surround himself with people of the same mindset, that's fine.
