I actually think the opposite is true. I think the changes have caused certain writers to be viewed less often. Not more often. I think this has happened because the platform has been made fairer. People with few followers are almost as likely to be read as people with 100,000 followers.

So, Dr Mehmet is now in the same boat as the rest of us. Before, there was a top tier running off with all the money, and that wasn't fair either.

Sorry to hear you're struggling though. You don't strike me as one of the top 1% who was historically running off with all the money. I've written about health from the outset of my writing on Medium and the articles hardly ever did well. One on a nail fungus treatment earned $50 and that was it. Most of the rest hovered around a dollar. Even a piece about my husband getting rid of his cancer naturally had a very disappointing performance. So, in my experience, health topics by people outside of the top 1% have always done badly, with the exception of a few that take off.

So are you saying that your recent lack of engagement has caused your reads to fall? That's interesting, as it's a different effect to what I saw while I was away.

I gave up posting much on health because it never does well. I wrote about my thoughts on Dr Mehmet's experiences here...
