Hmm interesting. I just see what Medium shows me, and that's editors dismayed that their nominated boosts are not being rewarded like they were before, and people earning cents. If some boosts still are being paid nicely, that's great for those writers.

I don't know what the answer is for people like me. I don't respond to anyone differently to how I respond to you. In fact, I value your opinion more, so tend to communicate with you more.

I won't read what I'm not interested in, either, but Medium recommends me stuff from a regular circle of people who do engage, plus boosts, and topics I follow. I read within them all a bit, whether I know the author or not. I sometimes check out someone's profile if I like their stuff or they look interesting.

If I look at tags on say, Parkinson's, at least 50% of it is AI generated, which while sometimes raising interesting topics, isn't what I'm here for. I read in all sorts of different ways. But read-for-read isn't one of them. And yes, of course, I get to know a few people a bit - like you! And you must make some connections too.

Anyway, I guess I'll just write when I want and take whatever I get for it. My husband will retire later this year, so I'll cut my hours down anyway.

Pleased to hear some of you are still doing well on the platform. :)
