Hi Jessica, I hopped over to your story from Alan's. I've never been a FoM. I did some analysis at the start and found that not only do FoM not pay 4x as much, but also, that my own reads as a standard member were registering as considerably higher amounts of money for the people I read, compared to the amounts the FoM reads.

My conclusion was that my reads are already worth more. No need to upgrade.

The reason? I don't have the time to read as much as some of the others on here, so I guess I'm more selective.

This means every time I do read, someone gets paid more than a read from someone who spends more time here, even if they are a FoM.

Don't get me wrong, I spend far too much time, here, but maybe my balance is tipped towards focusing on the writing, whereas some people deliberately focus on engagement first. But it means they read so widely that the fee is split widely and the amounts are tiny.

Bottom line - if my reads are worth more than every FoM I've ever analysed, there's no need to upgrade. And I find spending money diffiult, so that works for me. :)
