He possibly shouldn't have, but hey, if I was the owner, I'd be pleased to get it back anyway. The story reminds me of a time when I was 15, caught in a storm and lost s month's wages which blew out of my pocket. It was the bad old days when we were paid in cash. I was absolutely gutted. I'd worked evenings and weekends all month for that money. I found £20 wrapped round a bush in the storm but never saw the rest. I assume someone found it later, but I didn't go to the police. I wish I had. I was so defeated at that age, I had no confidence in people doing the right thing. But they might have. I should have tried. I intended to go down the police station, but it was a long way, I was at school, I was tired, and it was closed most of the time. By the time two weeks had passed, I thought it was too late. I was too pessimistic. You have restored my faith in human nature.
