Has your year really been that bad, because honestly, if it's been a whole year and you literally haven't earned anything, perhaps it's not for you. If however, as I suspect, you have earned something, see it as a stepping stone.
When I went freelance, in year 1 I earned £8k. In year 2 I earned 16k. Year 3 I earned £30k. A lot of new businesses don't make much in the first year. Look at whatever you have achieved as a start.
Did you make £8k? If so, that's bloody amazing during a pandemic. Double it next year, then double it again.
As for the man, well maybe he needs you to prove you can do it. I don't know.
My husband was my proof reader in year 1. It wasn't optional. I needed a proof reader. He was nominated because the guinea pigs weren't up to the job.
Perhaps you could rope yours in as proof reader, although it doesn't sound like he'd be very receptive.
Also, it sounds like you have a procrastination problem. Lists are great. Make lists. They focus the mind. Then do the things on the lists. Hopefully your husband will get more supportive the more he sees you showing that you can do this! Good luck!
