Great conclusion. My parents were rather like yours. Very old fashioned. We didn't have music except for a Handel's Messiah vinyl, which came out at Christmas.

Although my mum sang some classic songs with a local group, and we did have a TV, which obviously exposed us to some music.

Did you not have a TV?

I clashed too. Mine were birth parents, and we still had very different ideas.
