Gosh. I do hope things improve for you. Have you thought about temping? I'm not sure how things work in the US, but in the UK there are agencies that help businesses fill gaps by supplying staff at short notice for all sorts of jobs. I was reading about someone who did that yesterday, and it sounded like something I perhaps should have done in my youth. I was always after permanent positions, but temping provides immediate start, variety, and if you don't like it, there's no pressure to stay, you just move onto the next temping position.
