Eye opening. 🙂 I think in the UK everyone gets a basic state pension of about £6k, but the new government is proposing to means test that, which means that people with savings might get nothing. I have a work pension worth about £3k a year, and some put aside in a personal pension, which I add to when I can. It's a tax efficient way of saving at the moment, but the new government might be about to go heavy on taxing our pensions too. Nothing is safe!
