Beliefs vary. True. I read Dawkin's book. I had answers for most of it, but I'm not saying he's wrong. I'm just saying there are counter-arguments for most of what he says, none of which are acknowledged or addressed in his book.

I am amazed that stating my faith is flaky has impassioned you so much. I believe in evolution. I do not believe in creation. I think Dawkins is brilliant!

I’ve spent most of my life mixing in Christian circles in the UK, so have a fair idea what most people believe. Even ‘introduction to Christianity’ courses do not teach that the creation story should be taken literally!

Americans are known worldwide for being extreme and over-the-top. Fundamentalist Christians from the US, with their strange creationist views do not represent us all.

You might find this article interesting. It’s written by a British priest about Richard Dawkins. Notably, the writer says: “He (Dawkins) describes a version of Christianity that I don’t believe in — and then pummels it into submission with his arguments.”

Indeed, Dawkin’s version of Christianity is not one that many of us believe in. You might have fun taking up some of your arguments with the priest!

You do you. I’ll do me. Thank you for your comment.
