Agreed. This is why I'm vegan. I suppose it's the live frogs in those plastic bags - like oranges - I've seen on a news report recently that appalled me. And the tiny cages for everything. But you're right, while the UK has banned battery cages, some of the conditions in farming still leave a lot to be desired. Generally though, I think in the UK animals living conditions are better than the wet markets in China. And we don't do that to wild animals. If someone wants to eat a wild animal, they shoot it in the wild, and take home the carcus. Not nice, but better than live torture. In UK food markets, the animals are dead. Except occasionally for lobsters, I think, which I find reprehensible. Forcing anything to be alive and conscious until they hit the cooking bowl is just torture.
