Agreed. And there is a certain amount of resilience needed just to deal with life. We've gone from one extreme to the other. Even in the 1970s and '80s, it was forbidden to talk about mental health. Crying was punished. Showing emotion was punished. That's not right. But now, sometimes people seem too obsessed by it. Too busy wallowing in misery to go to work. Gosh, if they'd just go to work, they might find it helps! I hated my work, but having a job actually helped me control my eating disorder. As soon as that structure was stripped away from my life, it went horribly wrong. Not going to work isn't the answer. Wallowing isn't the answer. Trying to find a way out might help. CBT might help if it's not that easy. But yes, ups and downs are part of life.
